Trichostema coeruleum (Michx.) K.S.McClell. & Weakley
(Glade Bluecurls)
Family: Lamiaceae
Status: Native
Synonyms:
Trichostema brachiatum Linnaeus
Isanthus brachiatus (Linnaeus) BSP.
Trichostema coeruleum is a beautiful mint, similar to T. arizonicum but without the obvious arching stamens. Like
that species, it has pink-purple petals with blue anthers. It is found in sandy soil
at lower to middle elevations, but is much less common than T. arizonicum. Many thanks to Radha Veach for permission to use her photos!
