Pectis longipes A. Gray
(Longstalk Chinchweed)

Synonyms: None

Pectis longipes is the only perennial species of this genus in New Mexico. Like the other members of the genus Pectis, it has linear leaves with paired rows of sessile round glands on the margins, along with sets of paired bristles at the bases of the leaves. Most obvious are the heads borne singly on peduncles that can be up to 16cm long. Pectis longipes is found along roadsides and in pinyon juniper woodland.
