Bryum pellucens Hook.
Orthodontium pellucens has leaves that are reminiscent of a Dicranum, with which it could easily be confused. The alar region is brownish with enlarged alar cells, much like a Dicranum. The leaves are
long and thin with laminal cells that are long rhomboidal. The apex is acute with an apiculus. Linear, uniseriate gemmae were rare in the specimen we photographed.
