Brachymenium macrocarpum Cardot
Family: Bryaceae
Status: Native
Synonyms:
Osculatia macrocarpa(Cardot) Ochyra, Plášek & Bedn.-Ochyra
Brachymenium macrocarpum is suggested by the leaves that are tightly spiraled around the
stem. There is a limbidium. The cells at the base of the leaf are quadrate or nearly so. The apex is serrulate with a percurrent costa or short hairpoint. There are no filiform gemmae in the leaf axils. There are clusters of red-brown to black rhizoidal tubers. Many thanks to the VML members, Kelly Allred and John Brinda for help
securing an ID for this moss!
