Calochortus flexuosus S. Watson
(Winding Mariposa Lily)
Family: Liliaceae
Status: Native
Synonyms:
None
Calochortus flexuosus is similar to the more common C. ambiguus in our area.
The stems of Calochortus flexuosus are supposed to be weaker, but that does not
always seem to be the case. More telling are the short to absent hairs on the petals, compared to the long ones on C. ambiguus, and the depressed glands at the base of the petals on Calochortus ambiguus . The glands are not depressed on C. flexuosus.
